Your TiVo remote has buttons for controlling the Power,Mute, and Volume of your TV. This allows you to set asideyour TV remote, and use only the TiVo remote. Thesebuttons need to be set to emit the correct Infrared codes foryour Television brand.Normally, these codes can be found within TiVo's on screenmenus, under Setup, TV/AV Setup. However, we areshipping you an improved version of the TiVo remote, andconsequently the Infrared codes that are listed in TiVo's onscreen display are incorrect.

Instructions for Programming your TiVo remote
Step 1.
Locate your TV brand on this list. It will haveone or more 4-digit codes listed.
Step 2.
Cover the end of the remote with your hand toshield the infrared emitter and, on the TiVoremote, press and hold the TIVO and TV POWERbuttons simultaneously for about three seconds,until the TiVo remote's LED illuminates. Releasethe buttons and the LED will remain illuminated.
Step 3.
Use the number buttons on your remote toenter the first four-digit code. After pressing thefourth button, the LED will flash three times,indicating that a valid code was entered.
Step 4.
Now test the code by pointing your TiVo remotein the direction of the TV and press the TVPOWER button. If this turns the TV off, then youhave found the correct code. (Your volume andmute buttons will now work as well.) If they don'twork, repeat steps 2-3 with the next code in thelist.
Step 5.
If you have a stereo hooked up to your TV forthe audio, you can separately program theVolume and Mute buttons to control your stereoinstead. Repeat steps 1-4, using the appropriatecode for your stereo, and holding down the TIVOand VOLUME buttons in step 2.
